I had a large cedar tree and another bushy tree in the back yard that were cut back severely after the snow storm last year. (It really does look terrible, I kept begging the guy to just cut it down! But that would have meant more work for him, so NO!) After it was cut back, it left me with a large area of dirt, so wildflower seeds seemed like the way to go. I was hoping they would distract from the ugly trees!!
Not many came up last year, but this year, a few random flowers popped back up, and none of them I remember from last year. The last picture is of some random ground cover that has popped up in the back yard and in the front grassy area near the garage. It has these tiny pink flowers that only open up for a short time every day, but the leaves are nice and spiky and I wish it would just take over the back yard and we would not have to mow!
