A Visitor.

Chameleon

Yesterday was a beautiful day and I finally bought some potting soil to pot the flowers that I had bought over the weekend. I potted Moss Roses, Cosmos, and Snapdragons. I already have a couple of herbs, onion chives and rosemary, and some Aster flower seeds in pots too. And of course, the long-lived Gerbera daisy.

As I was getting everything together I saw a movement in the corner of my eye and realized that a tiny garden gecko had fallen from the tree above onto the daisy. He even let me snap a few pictures before he ran off to live in the shade.

After a spring cold snap, it’s finally warming up and the forecast is for rain over the weekend. Ugh. I know we need the rain, but it’s my birthday weekend! So far the forecast is for morning showers, so maybe we will have some nice afternoons. Also, this year my birthday falls on Easter so that means a lot of things will be closed. Sigh…

Last year at this time, we were in New York soaking up all the wonderful sights, sounds, and experiences that is NYC. I think about our trip often, and the amazing feeling of walking down that first city block after we left our hotel, finally getting to visit that wonderful city that I had dreamed about since I was a child.
